DIY Valentine Gifts for classmates and friends

We are 1 month until Valentine's Day!  (love me some fun holidays)!

To refresh you all, I am challenging myself this year to a strict budget of $ 10 for our homeschool  holiday parties (of course this does not include birthday).   For our upcoming Valentine's Day party I was able to make something that cost us nothing.

 Heart Shaped Valentine Crayons

Aren't they cute!

Here is how we created them...

Took all our broken crayon pieces that I have been saving
(there is still time for you to save them)

and put them into Silicone heart shaped cupcake cups
(which are honestly not my favorite to bake with but great for making soap and crayons)

Set oven to 250 degrees...

Zachary is learning about RESPECT for the oven and how to
properly use it.

Here is what they looked like all melted (about 15 mins)

I set ours out on the deck to set up...once set (about 30 mins)

I popped them out of the molds...and there you have it...

I found this FREE Goodie Bag printable over at Shindig Parties to go!

is where you can also download an entire Valentine Party for FREE!

OH Happy Day and Happy Budget!

BIG THANK YOU to Jillian at Catch My Party for
posting this tutorial on your site!

So very cute!

I have heart-shaped silicone trays, but they are much smaller. I was thinking about doing something similar this, with 2 or 3 heart-shaped crayons in each package for my kids to take to Sunday School.

This is a fabulous idea! And definitely hits the frugal goal. I was trying to think of ideas for things to make for my little guy too.

Thanks for sharing!

No way!!! Free party print outs.

Why did I not meet you last year b/f Lilly's 1st bday party.

This year we're doing The Very Hungry Caterpillar. You wouldn't happen to have any ideas would you?

What a fantastic idea ... now I just have to find heart shaped cups to bake the broken crayons in. My daughter would love to give these out to her friends! Thank you for linking up this week on my Enchanted Thursdays Blog Hop!

What a great idea!! I remember making crayons like this when I was little and just using a regular muffin tin. LOVE the heart-shaped ones though! Thanks for linking up to NOBH!
